Do all providers have insurance and police checks?
Yes. It is a requirement for providers using the Blys platform to have at a minimum public liability insurance for their mobile business and a current police check. If you require additional compliance information just let us know and we will happily find match you with a provider that meets you or your clients care requirements.
Can I use my NDIS funding to pay for my treatment?
If the NDIA and your Plan Manager have approved support funding for massage therapy or physiotherapy in your capacity building budget, yes you can book a provider who matches your care requirements with Blys. It is important to always check the services you would like to book are approved in your funding before booking to ensure the payment is covered.
Can I use my home care package fund to pay for treatments?
Yes, absolutely. We work with hundreds of aged-care clients across Australia using their HCP to book in-home massage , physiotherapy and personal grooming services such as hair washes, cuts and colour and nail care through Blys. Whether you self-manage your home care package or work with an aged-care plan manager simply get in touch with us, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Can I book if I live in a nursing home or retirement facility?
Yes, absolutely. While the majority of home-care package treatments are delivered through in client homes, the beauty of Blys is that you can book a provider to visit you or a loved one wherever you are. Whether that’s in a nursing homes, respite, retirement or care facility. Get in touch with us and tell us about your care requirments, and we’ll match you with a provider who will tailor their treatments for you.
How much space do I need?
How much space you need will depend on the treatment you’re booking. For a table massage you will need to have a clear space that is atleast 2m x 1.5m for the table and provider to fit. If you have limited mobility you can request to have the treatment from your bed or chair, simply let us know and we’ll add this to your booking notes.
Can I request a female / male therapist?
Yes. If you would like to request your provider of a specific gender simply let us know when completing your enquiry form or if booking instantly online simply select whether you would like a male or female provider and we will do our best to match you with someone suitable.
What clothing should I wear?
You may be invited to disrobe, however, please leave briefs/ underwear in place. It is ok if you wish you wear more than this, comfortable, loose fitting clothing is recommended.
Who is eligible for an aged care package in Australia?
To qualify for aged-care funding in Australia, whether in-home, short-term care, or support in an aged-care home, an individual must first undertake an assessment to determine the level of care they need.
Eligibility is based on factors like your health, how you’re managing at home, and any support you currently receive. Individuals must also be 65 years or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people).
What is the difference between NDIS and home care package?
One of the core differences between the NDIS and a home-care package is the age of an individual. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports younger people under 65 with a permanent and significant disability, while a home-care package provides support for elderly Australians who want to stay independent at home.
While younger people under 65 may be eligible for an aged-care home-care package they must first explore accessing support through the NDIS.
What are two support services that could be accessed by a client with disability?
People living with a disability may access remedial massage therapy or physiotherapy through Blys to support their mobility, fitness and life goals.
How does parking work?
As providers are required to bring all equipment with them, we apply a $20 surcharge if free parking nearby is unavailable. Please let us know in your enquiry form or when booking online what type of parking is available. Free parking includes free street parking and on-site parking.
How much notice do I have to provide?
The beauty of Blys is that we’re an on-demand booking platform, which you can place a same-day booking and there is an available provider in your area they will be notified to accept. We do always encourage you to book with as much notice as possible to increate the likelihood of your booking being accepted. You will only be charged once your booking is confirmed.
How do I know I am getting a qualified massage therapist?
You can book with confidence when you book with Blys. All massage therapists and on the Blys platform must hold a minimum Certificate 4 in Massage Therapy or Diploma in Remedial Massage.
A providers qualifications, business insurance and police check are vetted prior to joining the platform. If you have additional compliance requirements you would like to request simply let us know and we’ll find you an appropriate provider.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancellation fees only apply to confirmed bookings. Depending on the time until your confirmed booking is due to take palce a cancellation fee may apply.
- For confirmed bookings cancelled more than 24hrs in advance you will be charged a 10% processing fee.
- For confirmed bookings cancelled between 4-24hrs of the start time you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
- For confirmed bookings cacnelled less than 24hrs before the scheduled start time you will be charged 100% of the cancellation fee.
You can always request to re-schedule with your provider should you no longer be able to make your confirmed booking time. Read our client cancellation policy.
What time can I book a massage?
Providers are available to book on Blys 7 days a week from 6am – 11pm, including public holidays. These hours refer to the first and last available appointment start times.
What cities is Blys in?
The Blys platform is accessible Australia-wide, with providers in all major cities including: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Hobart and the Gold Coast. Live outside a major city? No worries! Get in touch and we’ll try and find you a suitable provider.
Can I re-book the same massage therapist?
Absolutely! If you’ve found a provider you love you can re-book them as frequently as you like e.g on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis. Simply get in touch with us, we’ll take care of it for you or re-book them straight from the Blys client dashboard.
What can you claim on aged care package?
As everyone’s needs are different, so too are is the care each eligible individual recieves. Often support funding provides assistance with daily tasks e.g cleaning the house, organising appointments and transportation. This could also services that help you stay mobile and well e.g massage and physiotherapy or nail and haircare services.
What is the difference between home care and residential aged care?
As the name suggests, Home Care refers to individuals who live at home and recieve support and funding to help them with their day to day activities.
Residential Aged Care refers to when an individual moves into an aged-care facility with other elderly residents and receives the support they need within their home.
