All About KC
Today’s feature is the multi-talented KC from Queensland.
1. Why did you choose to become a massage therapist?
Having gone through a few career changes (all in the healthcare industry), it was a natural step. I went into massage following time spent as a personal trainer. I believed studying massage would complement my personal training. Once I was a qualified therapist, I started massaging at a gym, and then from home. I then found a job advert for a corporate massage therapist and was given an opportunity and got into the swing of it. I fell in love with corporate massages and quit personal training. It’s been 8 years and I haven’t looked back. I’m still really enjoying it.
2. What do you enjoy most about your massage therapy?
Like I said, I really enjoy corporate work. But more than that, I like being faced with someone that has a headache or tight neck and shoulders. When they’re in so much pain, it’s rewarding to see the relief on their face when they get off the massage table or chair.
3. Why did you choose Blys and what has your experience with Blys been like?
I have experienced multiple platforms, but Blys stands out. Therapists in their network earn up to 75% of the booking fee. This means they receive 2-3 times more than a standard spa massage therapist.
Blys organises meetups and catch-ups with other therapists, too. Most jobs require just one therapist, so we don’t get to catch up with fellow therapists regularly. With Blys, I don’t feel like just another worker – I feel valued for the quality of work I deliver.
4. What is the best compliment/feedback you’ve ever received?
All compliments are great, but this one stood out to me:
“Amazing massage, very good knowledge of remedial techniques and anatomy. Would definitely book KC again. One of the best therapists I’ve met through Blys recently.”
5. How do you spend your free time?
I love my fitness. I have participated in a number of events like Tough Mudder obstacle courses, triathlons, trail runs and half marathons. More recently I’ve been getting into rock- climbing and Crossfit.
Obviously, I love massages. I also love spending time with my son, and my pets.
