September was all about clearer communication and fewer surprises. Clients and pros can now chat as soon as a booking is confirmed, cancellation terms are visible right where decisions are made, and the Blys apps now speak more languages.
For pros, the new Blys Wallet brings earnings, payouts and credit together in one place, and pros in parts of Europe can now get new job alerts on WhatsApp.
Here’s what’s new.
For Clients
See the cancellation policy before you pay.
Nobody likes an unexpected fee. The Payment Summary screen now includes a Cancellation policy row. Tap it and a simple overlay shows the key terms in clear, colour-coded tiers, from free cancellation before your booking is confirmed through to the fees that apply closer to the appointment time.
You can check the terms and close the overlay without leaving checkout, and a link to the full policy in the Help Centre is still there if you want more detail. Available in the client app and on the web.

Check the cancellation terms in seconds, without leaving checkout.
Add your booking to your calendar
Once a booking is confirmed, an Add to calendar option on the booking details page on the web lets you save it to Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Yahoo or another calendar app.
Booking confirmation emails now include calendar details too, so many email apps can offer to add the booking for you. If the booking is rescheduled or cancelled, the follow-up email updates or removes the calendar event, so your calendar stays accurate. For privacy, the calendar entry shows your suburb rather than your full street address.
Verify your mobile number with a phone call
Can’t receive text messages? When you sign up or verify your mobile number, you can now choose to get your verification code by automated voice call instead of SMS. The call reads your 6-digit code aloud, and you can switch between SMS and a call at any time on the code screen.
Clearer emails when a refund is issued as Blys credit
When a cancellation or booking change results in a refund as Blys credit, your email now says so clearly, including the amount added to your account. Credit is applied automatically at checkout on your next booking, and if you’d prefer a refund to your original payment method, our Support team can help where applicable.
Homecare: block a pro for a specific recipient
Homecare coordinators can now block a pro from being matched with one specific recipient, while still allowing that pro to accept bookings for other recipients in the same organisation. Previously, a manual block applied to every recipient under the Homecare provider. This gives coordinators finer control over matching without limiting their wider network of partner pros.
A more helpful page when a pro isn’t available
If you open a link to a pro’s profile and that pro is no longer available on Blys, you’ll now see a clearer page that explains what happened, with a Find another provider button so you can keep browsing instead of hitting a dead end.
For Providers
Meet the Blys Wallet
The new Blys Wallet brings your earnings, payouts and credit together in one clear view. Your balance is split into three parts:
- Available: cleared earnings that are ready to be paid out
- Pending: earnings that haven’t cleared yet, for example while a job is still in progress or a payment is being collected
- Credit: Blys credit (such as referral rewards or bonuses) that you can use on Blys, kept separate from your cash earnings
Every change to your balance appears in a single activity history, with links back to the related booking or payout. Your weekly payout report is replaced by a downloadable Wallet Statement, giving you one record of earnings, payouts, credits and adjustments.
The Wallet was rolled out market by market during September, with existing payout data migrated carefully along the way.

Available, pending and credit balances, all in one place.
Cancellation policy at a glance in the Blys Pro App
On a confirmed booking’s details screen, pros can now tap Cancellation policy to see the time-based fees, the reasons where no fee applies, and the payout review period for cancelled bookings, all in one overlay without leaving the booking. It’s an easy way to understand the impact before deciding whether to cancel. Available in the Blys Pro App and on the web.
Fairer fees for couples and group bookings cancelled well in advance
If a pro cancels a confirmed couples or group booking more than 48 hours before it starts, they now pay only the standard cancellation fee: 25% of their own platform fee, capped at $20 per booking. The other pro’s payout and booking fees are no longer added in this window.
For cancellations 48 hours or less before the start time, the existing couples and group policy is unchanged, which continues to protect the other partner pro who has accepted the booking. If you have an emergency, contact our team and we will assist.
WhatsApp job alerts in Germany, France, Sweden and Norway
Pros in Germany, France, Sweden and Norway can now receive new booking alerts on WhatsApp, alongside push notifications and email. Each alert includes the treatment type, suburb, date, time and payout amount, with a link to view and accept the job in the Blys Pro App. Alerts are sent in the pro’s local language, and pros can opt out of WhatsApp alerts at any time by replying STOP.

New job alerts, right where pros already check their messages.
For Clients and Providers
Chat as soon as your booking is confirmed
Booking chat used to open 48 hours before the appointment. Now, clients and pros can message each other as soon as the booking is confirmed. That means questions about parking, access, equipment or preferences can be sorted early rather than at the last minute.
Chat also stays open for 1 hour after a booking is completed, so there’s time to share a final thank you, a follow-up question or a forgotten detail. Calls work the same way as before, and Blys’s privacy protections for contact details remain in place throughout.

Start the conversation as soon as your booking is confirmed.
Blys in your language
The Blys client app, Blys Pro App and web app now support multiple languages. The app picks your language automatically from your device or browser settings, and you can change it with the new language selector. The booking flow is translated first, with more areas, including reviews and emails, coming next.
More improvements are on the way
September’s releases focused on clearer communication, more transparency around fees and payouts, and a more local Blys experience as we grow in new markets.
Keep an eye out for the next monthly update to see what’s new.
