Frequently Asked Questions

Have a Question?

What kind of events can I make a group massage booking for?

You can book a group massage for just about any event you like. Our services are popular for events like conferences, conventions, birthday parties, hens nights, work wellness days, and more.

How does a group massage work?

Simply send our friendly team an inquiry, and they will get back to you with a quote. From there, you can expect massage therapists to arrive at your chosen location at the specified time with all the equipment they need. A standard massage toolbox for group bookings will contain a massage chair, face cradle, sanitation wipes and hand sanitizer and massage oil. Depending on the event, therapists may also bring some aromatherapy oils and headphones for music. Event massages can include as many people as you like, and massages typically range from 5-15 minutes or longer, depending on the amount of guests at your event.

What types of massages do you offer for events?

We typically offer chair massage services for large events. These massages are performed in a special massage chair which allows for full-body relaxation.

However, we can also offer table massage services depending on your event. These are popular with more intimate or personal events like hens or bucks nights, bridal or baby showers, and other friends/family events.

Alternatively, for large scale events, massage can be performed in regular chairs or whatever seating is provided. We are adaptable to your needs!

What types of massages can I get at my event booking?

Your massage therapists will always allow time for a brief consultation before being massage. This covers areas of injury, strain or tension, places where you would like the most attention and time being spent, and preferences for pressure. In this way, you’ll receive a tailored massage service, no matter how long you’re in the chair for.

Whilst all therapists on the Blys platform are trained in remedial and relaxation massage styles, some therapists specialise in these areas. If you required a therapist who is able to perform deep tissue on one person, and Swedish on another, and sports massage on somebody, please specify this in the Notes section of your booking to ensure you’re paired with the right therapist/s.

My event is at a venue. Do I have to cover my therapists’ parking?

It is up to the therapist/s to arrange parking for your event. Therapists are advised that if they cannot arrange for travel and parking to a booking, they should not accept it.

Hotel bookings are charged an additional service fee that covers the cost of parking for therapists.

Often, corporate clients who book group or event massages are generous enough to cover the cost of parking for therapists if no free parking is available.

Please consider that therapists bring all their own equipment, including chairs, massage tables, towels and all other accessories. This means their packs can be heavy, and they may have to travel some distance to arrive at your booking on time. You should always specify what type of parking is available to therapists while making your booking in order to ensure they are prepared.

Do I need to allocate a separate room?

Not really. Having a chair massage or a table massage as a part of your group booking or pamper event is quite manageable in your home or venue. However, having a separate room/space can be beneficial to create a private, relaxing ambience.

Are therapists vetted and insured?

All therapists on the Blys platform are carefully vetted and must complete a comprehensive onboarding process before joining the platform. We require providers to have relevant experience for the services they offer, valid insurance and police checks as well while they sign up. We also have an internal rating system for our providers, which helps you decide which therapists to book for your event.

What hygiene procedures do therapists maintain?

The equipments your provider uses for your group event or pamper session are always wiped down with antibacterial between every guest, and they are required to use a disposable paper cover/lining every time.

Can I rebook with the same provider?

For sure! Our seamless booking platform makes it super easy to rebook your favourite providers.

Do I need to provide anything for the massage therapist?

No, you don’t need to provide anything for the massage therapist, beauty therapist or wellness providers. They will arrive with ergonomic massage chairs (or any other massage equipment, depending on the service you’ve chosen), disposables, music, and everything required to create a relaxing massage station. You just need to have sufficient space of either 3ft x 5ft for chair massage or 6.5ft x 6.5ft for table massage.

What cities are you in?

Currently, you can book services through Blys in Toronto, Vancover, Ottawa, Montreal, Calgary, Winnipeg, Burnaby – with more cities coming soon.

Please see our locations page for a full list of locations

How much space is required?

Massage chairs only require 3ft x 5ft of space, so they can be set up almost anywhere. If you would prefer a table massage and have a private room available, you’ll require 6.5ft x 6.5ft of space.

Can I request providers to use specific products that I provide them?

Yes for sure. You can opt for providers to use your products and equipment and also give them notes about individual guests and their requirements to better accommodate the treatments according to their preferences.

Is there a cancellation fee?

All confirmed group bookings (including but not limited to bookings for offices / teams, events, and other groups of 4 or more people) will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee if cancelled after the booking has been confirmed. Additionally, the following will also apply:

48 – 72 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 20% fee
24 – 48 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 50% fee
24 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 100% fee

How do I know I’m getting a quality service?

To ensure you’re in great hands (literally) all providers on the Blys platform are carefully vetted and must complete a comprehensive onboarding process before joining the platform.

We require providers to have relevant qualifications or experience for the services they offer, up to date insurance and valid police checks. We also have an internal rating system for our providers.

How does parking work?

Massage therapists are required to bring quite a bit of equipment and therefore parking on the premise is preferred. If that isn’t available, we’ll ask you to specify the closest spot to park and if it requires any costs to be covered.

How much notice do I have to provide?

We require 48 hours notice to secure your booking.

When and how do I pay for group events?

We require all group bookings to be paid in advance. We can accept credit cards (an invoice will be sent) or we can raise an invoice and email it to you.

Can I contact my provider prior to my appointment?

Yes! 48 hours prior to your booking start time, you will be able to message your provider using the chat function in the app. To access the chat function, open your app and head to the upcoming bookings page, select your booking and then click ‘message therapist’.

Your provider will also have the ability to message you prior to your appointment to ask any questions they may have to ensure they can best prepare to achieve your desired results.

What is a contraindication?

A contraindication is an injury or medical condition that may require therapists to modify, and in very rare cases refrain from doing massage. For example. if you or any of your team members has a strained wrist, your therapist could still massage the neck and shoulders, but just avoid the injured area. But if they have had a recent surgery, there will be an absolute contraindication, refraining the therapist from working on them. Generally the therapist can modify the sequence to make it safe and enjoyable.

Blys connects you with qualified massage and beauty professionals that come to you with everything they need, 6am to midnight, 7 days.

In addition to the standard home massage service, you can also book onsite massage and beauty for corporate and private events including charity events, end of year parties, hens parties, baby showers, weddings, mums groups and pamper days (just because you deserve it!).

  • Providers bring everything with them so you don’t have to worry about anything.
  • You can book 1 therapist, or more if you have a larger group.

Simply place your booking online or get in touch with us and we’ll take care of the rest.
