Reply to Individual Messages and React with Emojis in the Chat Feature

Two things that make any chat better: being able to reply to the right message, and reacting when words aren’t really needed. Both are now live in the Blys in-app chat. 💬

Whether you’re a client following up on a booking detail or a provider responding to a question mid-thread, these updates make it a lot easier to keep conversations clear across the web, the client app, and the Blys Pro App.

Here’s how they work.

You can now reply directly to a specific message in any conversation, whether it’s your own or someone else’s. The original message appears as a faded bubble above your reply, so whoever’s reading the thread knows exactly what’s being referenced, without having to scroll back to find it.

If the original message contains an image, that image appears in a grid format inside the reply bubble, so the visual context carries through too.

Each reply bubble includes a header showing who replied, which message they responded to, and the timestamp. Tap or click the reply bubble at any time and the chat will scroll straight to the original message, as long as it’s already loaded in the conversation.

Reply works in both one-to-one and group conversations, and text in any message can also be copied directly from the same menu.

How It Works

For PC

1. In your Upcoming Booking section under the Bookings page, locate an upcoming booking and click on Messages. You’ll be taken to the conversation.

2. Hover over the message you want to respond to and click the three dots.

3. Select Reply, and the chat input will show you who you’re replying to and which message you’re referencing. Type your reply and send it.

4. Now both you and the provider will know exactly which message you’re responding to.

For Mobile

1. Tap on Bookings. Once you locate an upcoming booking, tap on Messages to open the conversation with your confirmed provider.

2. Long-press the message you want to reply to.

3. A drop-down will appear with quick reactions and a Reply option, along with the option to Copy the text.

4. Tap on Reply, type your message, and send it.

This works the same way for providers who want to converse easily with clients via the Blys Pro App. Simply follow the same process by locating Messages under your upcoming booking in your Bookings tab.

React to Messages with Emojis in Your Chat

You can also react to any message with an emoji, straight from the chat. Quick reactions give you five commonly used options in one tap, and if none of those fit, the full emoji picker is one step further.

To see who reacted to a message and with what, tap or click the reaction list below the message. If you want to remove a reaction you’ve added, just tap your own emoji in the list and it comes off.

Emoji reactions work in both one-to-one and group conversations across all platforms.

How It Works

For PC

1. Hover over the message and click the emoji icon. Pick a quick reaction from the six emoji options shown, or press the + button to open the full emoji picker and choose any emoji you like.

2. You can also remove a reaction from a message. Simply click on the emoji shown below the message. A pop-up will appear with your name and the emoji you reacted with. Click on Tap to remove’ to remove your reaction.

For Mobile

1. Long-press the message to bring up the quick action menu. The six quick reactions appear at the top. Tap one to react with, or tap on + to open the full emoji picker if you want something specific.

2. To remove a reaction, tap the emoji in the reaction list below the message. Tap on ‘Tap to remove’ to remove your reaction.

This works the same way for providers who want to respond and react quickly to messages via the Blys Pro App. Simply follow the same process by locating Messages under your upcoming booking in your Bookings tab.

Why These Features Matter

The in-app chat on Blys is how clients and providers communicate throughout the booking process, and clarity in that conversation makes the whole experience smoother. Threaded replies mean specific questions get specific answers without anything getting buried. Emoji reactions let you acknowledge a message quickly when a full response isn’t needed.

Both features are consistent across the web, the client app, and the Blys Pro App, so the experience is the same no matter which platform you’re using.
