Charity Event Ideas We Cater For

Galas and Fundraising Dinners

The gap between arrival drinks and the first speech is where a gala either builds momentum or loses it. A hair blow bar or express manicure station in that window gives guests something to do with their hands other than check the auction catalogue.

Volunteer and Staff Appreciation Days

Volunteers have heard thank you a lot, and most of them have the certificate to prove it. Fifteen minutes of chair massage says something a speech can’t, especially for people who spend their days doing physical work for free.

Sponsored Community Days

Sponsors want their money doing something visible. A wellness station that people queue for gives the funding partner a real presence at the event, and gives your community something better than a branded pen.

Auction and Raffle Prizes

An in-home massage or a group pamper party for the winner and their friends usually bids higher than the donated hamper sitting next to it, because the prize is an experience rather than something else to store in a cupboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a few questions?

How do you make a fundraiser more engaging?

Give guests something to do between the formalities. Long gaps between arrival, speeches and the auction are where energy drops, and a massage chair or nail station in that window keeps people in the room and talking rather than checking their phones.

Can you work with any type of budget?

We’ll always try. The number of providers and the hours booked are the two levers, so a smaller budget usually means one station for a shorter window rather than no station at all. Tell us the figure and we’ll tell you what it buys.

Do you donate services to charity events?

Providers on Blys are independent contractors who are paid for their time, so bookings are paid the same way as any other event. What we can do is work with your budget to find a format that fits it.

Are event massages safe?

Yes, event massages are safe when provided by qualified and experienced massage therapists.

Massage therapists on the Blys platform are fully qualified, insured and experienced, ensuring that your event massages are safe and enjoyable for all guests. Massage therapists also take all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of our clients, including providing clean and sanitized equipment, using high-quality products, and adhering to strict hygiene protocols.

If you have any concerns about the safety of event massages, feel free to contact us for more information.

How many guests can you cater for?

As a rough guide, one therapist gets through around four guests an hour at ten to fifteen minutes each, so the number of providers you need depends on your guest count and how long the activation runs. We’ll work the maths out with you when we quote.

Through Blys it’s super easy, simply fill out of form and we’ll be in contact to help you organize massages for your event.

How do event massage services compare to other wellness activities in terms of their impact on employee well-being and satisfaction?

Event massage services can be a highly effective wellness activity for improving employee well-being and satisfaction, but their impact may vary depending on the context and the needs of the employees.

Compared to other wellness activities, such as yoga classes, meditation sessions, or fitness challenges, event massage services have the advantage of providing immediate stress relief and relaxation. Massage therapy has been shown to reduce stress levels, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension and pain, and promote feelings of well-being and relaxation.

In addition, event massage services can be tailored to the specific needs and preferences of individual employees. For example, some employees may prefer a gentle, relaxing massage, while others may benefit from a deeper, more therapeutic massage. This level of customization can help ensure that employees receive the maximum benefit from the massage service.

Overall, event massage services can be a highly effective wellness activity for improving employee well-being and satisfaction, but they should be considered in the context of a larger wellness program that includes a variety of activities to meet the diverse needs of employees.

How much space do I need?

Massage chairs only require 3ft x 5ft of space, so they can be set up almost anywhere. If you would prefer a table massage and have a private room available, you’ll require 6.5ft x 6.5ft of space.

Can you provide a full day event?

Absolutely! Our event massage services are offered from 6 am till midnight, 7 days a week.

Can you work with any type of budget?

Absolutely. No matter your budget we can find a solution that works for you and your needs.

Can I request providers to use specific products that I provide them?

Yes for sure. You can opt for providers to wear your branded merchandise, use your products and equipment and also brief them on your key USP’s to help sell your brand and products to your guests.

Is there a cancellation fee?

All confirmed group bookings (including but not limited to bookings for offices / teams, events, and other groups of 4 or more people) will be subject to a 10% cancellation fee if cancelled after the booking has been confirmed. Additionally, the following will also apply:

48 – 72 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 20% fee
24 – 48 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 50% fee
24 hours prior to the scheduled booking start time = 100% fee

What cities are you in?

Currently, you can book services through Blys in Las Vegas, Chicago, Houston, Austin, Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver – with more cities coming soon.

Please see our locations page for a full list of locations

How do I know I’m getting a quality service?

To ensure you’re in great hands (literally) all providers on the Blys platform are carefully vetted and must complete a comprehensive onboarding process before joining the platform.

We require providers to have relevant qualifications or experience for the services they offer, up to date insurance and valid police checks. We also have an internal rating system for our providers.

How does parking work?

Mobile wellness providers are required to bring quite a bit of equipment and therefore parking on the premise is preferred. If that isn’t available, we’ll ask you to specify the closest spot to park and if it requires any costs to be covered.

How much notice do I have to provide?

We require 48 hours notice to secure your booking.

When and how do I pay for corporate event massage bookings?

We require all corporate event massage bookings to be paid in advance. We can accept credit cards (an invoice will be sent) or we can raise an invoice and email it to you.

Do I need to allocate a separate room?

Not really. Having onsite chair massage or seated massage as a part of your corporate event is quite manageable in your usual communal workplace setting. However, having a separate room/space can be beneficial to create a private, relaxing ambience.

Do you use any massage oil?

No, therapists you book via the platform do not use any oil for corporate event massages, as they are performed fully clothed. This makes it very practical for the work place or event you’re based in.

Are therapists vetted and insured?

All therapists on the Blys platform are carefully vetted and must complete a comprehensive onboarding process before joining the platform. We require providers to have relevant experience for the services they offer, valid insurance and police checks as well while they sign up. We also have an internal rating system for our providers, which helps you decide which therapists to book for your event.

What hygiene procedures do therapists maintain?

The massage chair your therapist uses for your office massage session is always wiped down with antibacterial between every client, and they are required to use a disposable paper cover/lining every time.

How many people should I book for?

Booking for an office event can be quite challenging, however, as a general rule, the uptake of massage is around 70%. So, if you have an office of around 50 people, you should expect around 35 attendees. If you consider 15 minutes of seated massage for each of the 35 team members, this would be around 9 hours in total. This is just a tentative guide, and it is a good idea to ask around the workplace in advance to gauge the interest.

Do I need to provide anything for the massage therapist?

No, you don’t need to provide anything for the massage therapist, beauty therapist or wellness providers. They will arrive with ergonomic massage chairs (or any other massage equipment, depending on the service you’ve chosen), disposables, music, and everything required to create a relaxing massage station. You just need to have sufficient space of either 3ft x 5ft for chair massage or 6.5ft x 6.5ft for table massage.

What if I want to extend on the day?

You can definitely extend on the day itself, provided your therapist is available. However, you will need to get in touch with our team for more details.

What is a contraindication?

A contraindication is an injury or medical condition that may require therapists to modify, and in very rare cases refrain from doing massage. For example. if you or any of your team members has a strained wrist, your therapist could still massage the neck and shoulders, but just avoid the injured area. But if they have had a recent surgery, there will be an absolute contraindication, refraining the therapist from working on them. Generally the therapist can modify the sequence to make it safe and enjoyable.

How long is turnaround between massages?

When greeting the client, your therapist will ask for areas to focus on, any injuries/contraindications, pressure, and instruct them how to sit on the chair if it’s a chair/seated massage or the table if you’ve opted for a table massage. This generally takes about 1 or 2 minutes. At the end of the massage, the therapist will make sure the client gets off safely, and sanitizes the chair takes around another minute or two.
