How much does corporate chair massage cost in the US?

Written by Published on: October 9, 2026 Last Updated: October 10, 2026

Planning the cost of corporate chair massage

Corporate chair massage in the US is priced per therapist per hour. Published rates start at $95 and run to $129 per therapist-hour, with a 2 or 3 hour minimum per therapist. A 50-person office needs about 9 chair-hours, which comes to roughly $855 to $1,180, or about $24 to $34 per attendee.

Published corporate chair massage rates

These are the rates US providers publish on their own corporate chair massage pages, in USD, checked on October 7, 2026 (Blys on October 9). Each one is per therapist, per hour.

Provider Published rate per therapist-hour Minimum per therapist Gratuity
Massage by Design Starts at $95, higher in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington DC 2 hours Factored into the quoted rate
Spa Flow $125 for a 2-hour event, falling to $100 for 8 hours or more Rate table starts at a 2-hour event Not stated on its office chair massage page
Spa Theory (Austin page) $125, or $99 when you prepay 50 hours 2 hours Included
Zeel (Chicago and Los Angeles pages) $129 3 hours (Chicago page) 18% tip included
Blys $119 for chair massage ($129 for table massage), plus a 10% service fee 2 hours (1 hour for schools) Optional, not included, added separately

The Back Rub Company does not build gratuity into its quotes and says a typical tip is 15 to 25% of the total.

Worked example: a 50-person office

Blys’s planning rule is that around 70% of people take up a massage, so a 50-person office should expect about 35 attendees. At 15 minutes each, that is about 9 chair-hours. One way to cover it is 3 therapists for 3 hours, which also meets a 3-hour minimum.

Rate used 9 therapist-hours Per attendee (35)
Massage by Design, from $95 From $855 From about $24
Spa Flow, $115 for a 3 to 5 hour event, plus a $25 scheduler setup fee $1,060 About $30
Spa Theory, $125 $1,125 About $32
Zeel, $129 including an 18% tip $1,161 About $33
Blys, $119 plus a 10% service fee, tip not included About $1,178 About $34

These totals use each provider’s published rate before card fees, parking or out-of-hours charges. Blys says a corporate booking can work out at as little as $20 per person. That figure is the total booking cost divided by the number of attendees. At $119 an hour it means about 6 people an hour, or 10-minute sessions, before the 10% service fee.

What changes the price

Event length and number of therapists

Blys prices corporate massage on the length of the event and how many therapists you need. Longer events can lower the hourly rate: Spa Flow drops from $125 an hour for a 2-hour event to $100 for 8 hours or more.

Your city

Massage by Design says New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Washington DC carry higher hourly rates than mid-market cities.

Time, day and venue

Blys’s rates apply on weekdays during standard business hours. A per-provider surcharge applies to:

  • Early morning bookings (6am to 9am)
  • Evening bookings (6pm to 9pm)
  • Late-night bookings (9pm to midnight)
  • Weekends and public holidays
  • Hotel or conference venues
  • Venues with no free or metered parking

The amounts are confirmed in your quote.

Tips, card fees and setup fees

Check whether gratuity is inside the rate. Zeel, Massage by Design and Spa Theory include it; Blys does not. Massage by Design adds 3.15% to invoices paid by credit card, and Spa Flow charges a $25 setup fee for its scheduler.

One-off or recurring

Spa Theory’s Austin page offers $99 an hour when you prepay 50 hours, Zeel offers deeper discounts for recurring events, and Blys runs weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly programs with discounts for recurring bookings.

How Blys prices a corporate booking

Book instantly online through Blys for Teams, or tell Blys your team size, the services you want and your budget, and an Account Coordinator sends a quote within 24 hours. Chair massage is $119 per provider-hour and table massage $129, on weekdays during standard business hours, with a 2-hour minimum per provider. A 10% service fee is added to confirmed bookings, and any surcharges are confirmed in your quote. The rates are listed in the Blys for Teams help article.

Corporate bookings are paid in advance by card or invoice, and you are only charged once the booking is confirmed. Blys needs 48 hours’ notice to secure a booking. For groups of 4 or more, cancelling 72 or more hours out costs the 10% platform fee only, 48 to 72 hours out costs 20% of the booking value, 24 to 48 hours out 50%, and under 24 hours 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many massage therapists do I need for an office event?

Start from expected attendees, not headcount. Blys’s rule of thumb is that around 70% of people take part, and one therapist sees 3 to 5 people an hour depending on session length. Multiply attendees by session length to get chair-hours, then divide by the hours the event runs. Thirty-five people at 15 minutes each is about 9 chair-hours, so 3 therapists for 3 hours covers it.

Is the tip included in corporate chair massage pricing?

It depends on the provider. Zeel’s $129 hourly rate includes an 18% tip, Massage by Design factors gratuity into its quoted rate, and Spa Theory includes it. The Back Rub Company leaves it out of its quotes and puts a typical tip at 15 to 25% of the total. On Blys, gratuity is optional and not included in the corporate price. You can add it separately before, during or after the booking.

Is corporate chair massage tax deductible?

Generally, yes for the employer. The cost can usually be deducted as an ordinary and necessary business expense under IRC Section 162, as long as it is reasonable and has a business purpose. A one-off wellness day with short chair sessions is likely excludable as a de minimis fringe benefit, while a weekly or monthly program will not qualify. State rules can differ, California’s among them. Read more in is corporate massage tax deductible, and check your plan with your tax adviser.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Zeel’s Los Angeles page says you can book with as little as 4 hours’ notice, depending on therapist availability. Blys sends a quote within 24 hours and needs 48 hours’ notice to secure a booking. The Back Rub Company’s standard lead time is 4 weeks or more, with an expediting fee for faster turnaround.
